Submissions
Porto ICRE’26 invites the submission of abstracts until 24 February 2026. This conference includes spaces open to the submission of research works in the form of posters, oral communications, and panels. Proposals must fall within one of the following themes: (a) Teacher Education and Professional Development; (b) Special Education and Inclusive Pedagogy; (c) Social Challenges, Culture and Education.
Submissions must be made through the website in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. For each accepted submission with fewer than five authors (individual oral presentation, panel communication presentation, or poster presentation), at least one author must register for the Congress for it to be included in the programme. If an accepted submission has five or more authors, at least two authors must register.
Each participant will be limited to three submissions in the category of individual oral presentation, either as first author or co-author. Posters and panel presentations are not included in this count.
A registered author may take on the role of Session Chair/Moderator. The moderation of panels must be ensured by the person who coordinates and submits the panel proposal.
Please, before submitting an abstract, check below the instructions provided for each type of presentation.
Attention: reviewers’ comments must be taken into consideration when preparing the presentation and, eventually, when preparing final texts (if applicable). There is no need to submit a new abstract and/or modify the one submitted.

Panels give researchers the opportunity to present research on a specific topic, bringing together a coherent group of papers.
Please note that a panel must:
- include a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 papers, each with a maximum of 500 words, excluding references, and 3 to 5 keywords;

Panel proposals must be submitted by the Coordinator of the working group.
See below the detailed steps for panel submission:
1 | The Coordinator must create an account or LOG IN and, in the left-hand menu of the personal area, select the “Abstracts” tab and then the “Panels” option. Click “Add panel”.
2 | At this stage, the Coordinator must complete all fields, taking into account the following:
3 | After the panel submission, the authors indicated in the previous step must access their personal area, select the “Abstracts” tab in the side menu, then the “Panels” option, and access the “Related” tab. A block with the information of the submitted panel will be available, along with the option “Submit abstract”. Select this option.
4 | When submitting an abstract within the panel, the other authors of the abstract can now be indicated in the members section. At this stage, these authors do not need to have an account created. Each abstract within the panel must have a maximum of 500 words.
Accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress Book of Abstracts. Authors are invited to submit their papers for peer review.
Individual oral presentations should include empirical research with corresponding results and discussion, meta-analyses, or systematic reviews. Oral presentations will be organised into thematic sessions, lasting 90 minutes, which will include four presentations of 15 minutes each, on similar topics, followed by a discussion at the end of the four presentations.
We remind participants that each participant will be limited to three submissions in the category of Individual Oral Presentation, either as first author or co-author.
Presentations may also be delivered virtually, if the author is unable to attend the Congress in person. In this case, authors must be registered in the Online modality and must submit a PDF presentation file in their personal area of the website. Online presentations will take place in real time, via the Congress platform.
The presentation may be delivered in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
